OMG I WANNA GO JAPAN! 日本へ行きたいです！
Two of the world’s best music festivals (we no longer have the beauty of Woodstock gracing our planet) are happening over two weekends in August in Tokyo/Osaka/Naeba Ski Resort – SUMMER SONIC and FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL.
If I had to choose between the two, I’ll take Summer Sonic hands down. Why? Because Jónsi and The Smashing Pumpkins are in the freaking line up. Just look at the line up, man. So drool-worthy. I don’t have to repeat how much I adore Jónsi; he’s a living angel. And to see Billy Corgan would be just legendary…and a dream come true (yet another musical dream!).
Of course, the obvious problem would be money! It would cost me at least $1000 to make that trip to Summer Sonic. Saving grace? My cousin stays near Tokyo, so I can stay with her for that weekend and save on lodging. The downside? Ticket’s a freaking 29,000 Yen, which translates into about S$447. Air fare? According to this website, the cheapest I can probably get is $600 return air ticket. This website tells me similar things too. Kinda sucky huh. Does anyone know of any cheap(er) alternatives to go to Tokyo???!!! Please share, molto grazie. xxx
